Andrew Black and Patricia Milton have co-authored three plays: “Porn Yesterday," “Strange Bedfellows,” and "It's Murder, Mary!"


Porn Yesterday” was produced off-off-Broadway by the Curan Repertory Theater in New York City in August 2005. It was presented as part of The Alternative Theatre Company’s (Phoenix, AZ) 2005 Season. Its festival premiere was in San Diego at the 2003 Fritz Blitz Festival of New Plays by California Playwrights, and it was a finalist in the San Francisco Playwrights Center’s 2002 International Dramarama Competition. It was a finalist for the 2005 Theater Publicus Award for Dramatic Literature.

"Strange Bedfellows" will premiere in Fullerton, CA in June 2008. It won the 2005 Absolute Time Play Festival. It received a staged reading at the Playwrights Center of San Francisco in December 2003 and in August 2004 at the New Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. It received a workshop at the City Lights Theater of San Jose in December 2005.

A third collaboration, a gay murder mystery farce entitled, “It’s Murder, Mary!” will premiere in May 2008 at NCTC in San Francisco. It received a staged reading at the Playwrights Center of San Francisco November 8, 2005.

In addition to his joint works with Pat Milton, Andrew is the author of a two-act fantasy comedy, “Another Man’s Slingbacks," and a drama called "Second Weekend in September." A member of the 2004/05, 2006/07 and 2007/08 PlayGround Writers Pool,  his plays "The Vibration of a Balloon" and "Ka-Pluto" were staged by PlayGround in 2006/07. His ten-minute play, "Ark Types," was presented at the LSU Outworks Festival, at Stage Q, Madison, WI, at the Bare Stage Theatre in Red Bluff, California, and at the Riverside Arts Festival, Riverside, CA.  He is the Scene Night Coordinator for Playwrights Center San Francisco, and a member of The Dramatists Guild.

  Image  Patricia is the author of several one-act plays, including “The Champions of the World, “The Dentist,” and “The Only Virgin in Jubilee County,” which won the 2007 Hill Country Playwrights Festival, and a two-act children’s play, “The Maids!”  Her one-act, "Real/Not Real," was selected for production and publication as part of the 2007 Bay Area One Acts Festival, and "Busybody" will premiere at BOA in February 2008. Her ten-minute plays have been produced at the 2004 Bay Area Festival of One Act Plays (2nd Prize), 2004 and 2003 Short Leaps Festivals, Boston PlaySlam, Woman's Will 24-Hour PlayFest, North Park Playwrights Festival, Sheherezade (2005-2008), Lakeshore Players Annual Ten-Minute Play Festival, 2007 5th Annual Dragonfly Festival, and PlayGround. She is the Board President, Playwrights Center of San Francisco, and a member of Theatre Bay Area, Play Café and The Dramatists Guild.
